Education

Switch Radio has a long and rich heritage of using radio as a way to develop the education and skills of young people.

Current projects

In the first few months of 2012 the station will be working in partnership on a number of education projects with:

  • B’ham City University – Media Faculty
  • Washwood Heath School
  • Park Hall Academy

Recent projects – 2011

Between May and December 2011 Switch Radio ran a youth radio project for 23 young people in the Castle Vale area of Birmingham. With kind support from the Big Lottery Fund and the Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, the station delivered a range of radio workshops with young people aged 11-19.

We’d love to hear from you if you are interested in working with us to develop education projects in the future. There’s some information here in the Switch Radio education info sheet about how our projects complement the school curriculum. Please contact 0121 749 1343 or e-mail info@switchradio.co.uk to discuss your project ideas.
