107.5 Switch Radio

Welcome to the on-line home of 107.5 Switch Radio, Birmingham’s newest community radio station. Thanks for taking the time to check us out.

If you like what you see and hear and also like shopping on-line you could help us raise vital funds to help keep the station on air. It’s very simple – just visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/switchradio/ to register and shop with over 2000 well known retailers like Amazon, Argos, M&S, eBay and many more. Whenever you buy something, the retailer makes a donation to 107.5 Switch Radio which is operated by the charity, Headline Media (Birmingham). They’ve helped other causes raise over £2,000,000 so it really does work.

We’d be really grateful if you could use easyfundraising too. It won’t cost you a penny extra to shop through easyfundraising and you can even save money with special offers and voucher codes. So please make a difference to 107.5 Switch Radio and take a look at easyfundraising today.

A bit about Switch Radio…

The station launched in April 2010 and broadcasts from Castle Vale, Birmingham to a population of over 100,000 in the north east of the city. The station provides a local radio service designed to entertain and inform the community, combining a diverse music mix with national and local news, sport and information about events, good causes and local services. If you’re organising a community event or want to raise awareness of your group or charity, send your details to news@switchradio.co.uk or get in touch on 0121 749 1343 and we’ll do our best to promote it.

107.5 Switch Radio plays a wide cross section of music, featuring some of the world’s greatest artists from the last 5 decades, right through to the cream of the current music scene. We also broadcast a range of specialist rock, dance, soul and hip hop shows.

What else do we do?

We’re about much more than what simply goes out on air. We use radio as a vehicle to develop people, using media volunteering and training as a way to build skills and confidence. Most of the station’s programmes are presented and produced by volunteers who are given training and support to get them on air. Switch Radio also works with schools and youth agencies to provide radio education projects that develop the talents of young people.

The station is operated by the charity Headline Media (Birmingham) Ltd which also publishes Vale Mail, a monthly community newspaper distributed to over 4,000 homes in the Castle Vale area. You can visit the blog by visiting valemail.wordpress.com
